Help: publishing a 360video scene
The player runs in any modern browser with WebGL; no plug-in is needed. The old Flash player and its crossdomain.xml file are no longer used.
-
Use H.264 video in an MP4 file.
Every current browser plays
.mp4(or.m4v); not every browser plays.mov, but an H.264.movconverts to MP4 without re-encoding. Moving the index to the front ("fast start") lets playback begin before the whole file has downloaded:ffmpeg -i scene.mov -c copy -movflags +faststart scene.mp4
-
Upload the scene folder.
Upload the
somename.360scenefolder created by the 360video Unwrapper Studio, with the MP4 inside it, to your server. -
Serve the right MIME types.
File extension MIME type .360indextext/xml.mp4video/mp4.m4vvideo/mp4 -
Add the player to your page.
Copy pano360.js to your site, then paste this where the tour should appear, changing the paths to match your scene. The player reads the scene's
index.360indexfor its geometry and starting view. Setdata-mode="panorama"to show the whole 360° strip instead of a virtual tour.<div class="pano360" style="aspect-ratio: 16 / 9" data-scene="/somename.360scene/index.360index" data-mode="view"> <video muted loop playsinline autoplay preload="auto"> <source src="/somename.360scene/Shots/somename.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> </div> <script src="/pano360.js" defer></script>Keep the video on the same site as the page. A video on another host (a CDN, for example) must be served with CORS headers and needs
crossorigin="anonymous"on the<video>tag, or the browser will not let the player read its frames.
